
A comfort food mash-up you didn’t know you needed — tender, cheesy, and packed with classic Philly flavor!
📋 Ingredients:
For the Meatloaf:
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef (85/15)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup milk
For the Topping:
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Optional: sautéed onions & peppers for garnish
👨🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Sauté Veggies:
In a skillet, cook the chopped onions and peppers over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until softened. Let cool slightly.
3️⃣ Mix Meatloaf:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed veggies, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, eggs, and milk. Mix until just combined — don’t overmix!
4️⃣ Shape & Bake:
Press the mixture into your loaf pan. Bake for 35–40 minutes.
5️⃣ Add Cheese Topping:
Remove from oven and layer provolone slices on top. Return to oven for another 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
6️⃣ Rest & Serve:
Let the meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with extra sautéed peppers and onions if desired.
