- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce or BBQ sauce (optional for added flavor)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 egg roll or spring roll wrappers (or tortillas if preferred)
- 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)
- Oil for frying or brushing if baking
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until soft. Season with paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir in marinara or BBQ sauce if using. Let the filling cool slightly. - Assemble the Roll-Ups:
Place a wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of beef filling along one edge. Sprinkle a generous pinch of mozzarella cheese on top. Roll up tightly like a burrito, folding in the sides as you go. Seal the edge with the beaten egg. - Cook the Roll-Ups:
- To Fry: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry roll-ups until golden and crispy on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
- To Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place rolls on a baking sheet, brush with oil, and bake for 15–20 minutes or until crispy and golden.
- Serve:
Let cool slightly, then serve warm. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Great with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or spicy mayo!
