🦀🍤 Creamy Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque 🥣

📋 Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 lb crab meat (picked over for shells)
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1. Sauté the Base
In a large soup pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery, and cook for about 5 minutes, until softened and fragrant.

2. Add Tomato Paste
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for an additional 2 minutes to concentrate the flavor.

3. Pour in Stock
Add the seafood stock, bring to a gentle simmer, and let it cook for 15 minutes to develop depth.

4. Add Cream & Seafood
Reduce heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream, followed by the crab meat, shrimp, and Old Bay seasoning.

5. Simmer Gently
Let the bisque simmer for 5–7 minutes, or until shrimp are pink and cooked through.

6. Season & Finish
Taste and season with salt and pepper. Adjust seasoning as needed.

7. Serve
Ladle the hot bisque into bowls, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with crusty bread or oyster crackers.
