
Ingredients:
For the Meat Sauce:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground turkey
1 can (14 oz/400g) crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Optional: pinch of sugar (to balance acidity)
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)
For the Pasta:
12 oz (340g) linguine
Salted water for boiling
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add linguine and cook until al dente (about 9โ10 minutes).
Drain and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and sautรฉ until soft and translucent (about 3โ4 minutes).
Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar if needed.
Simmer on low heat for 15โ20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve:
Toss the linguine with the meat sauce or serve the sauce on top.
Garnish with chopped fresh herbs.
Optional: add grated Parmesan cheese.
