Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground sirloin
  • 2 cups uncooked shell pasta
  • 4 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/4 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 bell pepper, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1–2 cups water or beef broth (for simmering)
  • Optional: garlic powder, cumin, chili powder for added flavor

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Shells
In a medium pot, boil water with a pinch of salt. Add shell pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sirloin until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Sauté Vegetables
Add chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet with the beef. Cook until vegetables soften (about 3–5 minutes).
  4. Add Sauce & Simmer
Pour in the tomato sauce. Stir to combine. Add 1–2 cups of water or beef broth to loosen the sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices to taste.
  5. Combine with Pasta
Add the cooked pasta shells into the skillet. Stir well and let everything simmer together for 5–10 minutes until the flavors meld and sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve & Enjoy
Serve hot as a hearty main dish. Pairs great with a side of warm tortillas or a simple salad.
