Tragic End to Search for Missing Girl Perla Alison Sparks National Outrage

Perla Alison, a young girl who had been reported missing after leaving her home in the Santa Martha Acatitla neighborhood to buy candy, has been found deceased. She was last seen by her family when she asked permission to visit a nearby store and never returned, prompting the activation of a nationwide Amber Alert and a widespread search effort by authorities and citizen groups.

Her body was discovered in a vacant lot near the Constitución de 1917 metro station. A neighbor, alarmed by a foul odor coming from an abandoned building, alerted authorities. Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) quickly secured the area, and forensic experts from the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office recovered the remains.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the body showed signs of violence. An investigation into the crime of femicide has been launched. While initial findings suggest the minor may have suffered abuse prior to her death, the official cause will be confirmed through autopsy results.

The case has sparked widespread grief and anger, particularly on social media, where Perla Alison’s disappearance had gained significant attention. Feminist organizations and civil society groups are demanding justice, calling for a thorough investigation and the harshest penalties for those responsible.
