Pete Hegseth Says Trump Told Him ‘Keep Fighting’ Amid Allegations

Trump’s Defense Pick Pete Hegseth Vows to Stay in the Fight Amid Misconduct Allegations

President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, signaled on Wednesday that he has no plans to withdraw from consideration despite growing allegations of sexual and personal misconduct.

Speaking briefly to reporters at the U.S. Capitol, Hegseth, a former Fox News contributor and Army veteran, said he had spoken directly with Trump earlier that day. “I spoke to the President-elect this morning. He said, ‘Keep going, keep fighting,’” Hegseth stated. “Why would I back down? I’ve always been a fighter.”

When asked whether he was considering stepping aside, Hegseth was firm. “I’m here on Capitol Hill meeting with senators, and I’ll continue to do that.”

Despite the controversy, Hegseth remains committed to the confirmation process and shows no signs of backing away from the nomination.
